Our primary goal is to address the threats facing the South African coal mining industry, ensuring that coal continues to play an important role in the country’s economy for generations to come. Additionally, we would like to promote the benefits of coal in South Africa and ensure that the voice of coal mining companies is heard in important policy decisions.

Our organisation creates a platform for member coal companies, institutions, and their representatives to engage in discussions, advocacy, and activities that promote the industry and address the challenges it faces. Friends of Coal supports responsible coal mining to ensure the industry’s contribution to a sustainable future.
